The MALC had another fantastic Specialty October 30th and 31st of 2010, attracting exhibitors from near and far!

Saturday featured a wonderful grilled picnic put on by club members and a fun hospitality tent. The Middleburg Kennel Club did a great job of supporting us and the Leonbergers were there in abundance - so much so that the term “Leonberger Invasion” was tossed around a couple of times. With 32 paid entries on Saturday, we may have hosted the largest AKC entry to date! Ms. Sharol Candace Way judged the breed on Saturday and proved herself to be a gracious, conscientious, and thorough judge.

Sunday featured a comfortable mid-morning ring time with Mr. Paul Willhauck. The previous day’s reserves got the full nod as Winners Dog and Winners Bitch, and recognition was awarded to some Leonbergers that weren’t put up the day before. Shannon White’s “Jack”, Starhavens Black Pearl Cap’n, finished his championship with Sunday’s Winner/BOW award. Kristin Steichen’s boy “Behru”, Teberru von Alpensee, really shined this weekend, capturing BOB both days in a very competitive ring.

The MALC congratulates all the winners, breeders, participants, supporters, and chefs (Harry Austin makes a mean bratwurst). As always, the MALC put together a great show!
